You don’t know,
What I’ve gone through,
I’ve followed him,
Through the endless puzzles,
Cleaned his wounds,
While he’s slept the pain away,
I’ve guided him,
Lectured him on his poor diet,
I’ve comforted him,
When his dreams have turned to nightmares,
And yet,
One day our time will end,
You can imagine,
How close one can get to him,
While he’s busy,
He can be rather forgetful of you,
His smile is lost,
When you leave without a word,
The look of horror,
When he sees you gone forever,
What pain he feels,
It must shatter his heart to pieces,
It is my regret,
To leave my soul mate behind.

Navi, Midna, Fi, Tatl, King of Red Lions or Zelda herself, very few helper characters have stayed with Link after the adventure is over, it must really hurt. I love Twilight Princess, that look on Link's face before she shatters the mirror.
